In collaboration with the University Honors Program and the Habitat for Humanity Committee, NCCU volunteers have been building houses in neighborhoods near the campus since 2008. Thus far, NCCU has completed two homes: Eagle Habitat 1 and Eagle Habitat 2–was built in 17 weeks by 630 volunteers from NCCU and Durham communities.

Habitat for Humanity of Durham builds, renovates and sells safe, decent and affordable homes in partnership with local businesses, volunteers and hardworking families. Habitat offers a no-interest loan to qualifying low-income, hardworking families. Habitat homeowners are selected based on housing need, ability to repay the loan in full and willingness to partner with Habitat.
